**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Oversight of biweekly full-cycle payroll processing, month-end, and year-end payroll reporting requirements
- Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and support internal and external audits related as such
- Advise on payroll process improvement and execution
- Implement changes to payroll and benefits processes as needed
- Help to develop payroll-specific and statistical reports
- Optimize payroll processing software, systems, and procedures to best practice standards Foster strong relationships with vendors, benefits carriers, etc.
- Supervise two payroll and two administrative employees
- Function as back up to others on the payroll team for key responsibilities
- Prepare month end reconciliations, entries, and reports (payroll, RRSP, DPSP, TFSA, pensions)
- Assist with the preparation of year-end financial working papers and accruals
- Coordinate and review pay increase cycles and integrate changes within the company budgets.
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent degree combined with 3-5-year relevant experience required
- A CPA and/or CGA designation considered an asset
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in supervisory role within accounting or payroll department
- Demonstrated experience with PayWorks highly desired
- Budget forecasting experience highly desired
- Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, and reporting requirements
