In the position of Construction Project Manager/Site Superintendent reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing various construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that schedules and budgets are followed.
- **You will be accountable for**:_
- Supervisory responsibilities including selecting and overseeing contractors for specific needs to ensure that work meets quality standards and adheres to specifications
- Providing leadership in the initial planning stages by collaborating with internal clients, OEM representatives, architects, engineers, or other involved parties; developing detailed description of jobs and materials necessary to complete each project
- Overseeing contract negotiations, revisions, and adherence by all parties
- Collaborating with clients, supervisors, contractors, and other professionals to discuss and resolve problems, including work procedures, complaints, and construction or design issues
- Preparing and submitting budget estimates and regularly communicating with internal clients concerning budget progress and costs; ensuring adherence to the budget and, when unexpected complications or issues arise, making quick and necessary adjustments
- Monitoring and managing project timelines and milestones; preparing detailed construction schedules, weekly tracking, and monthly reporting
- Planning, overseeing, and directing activities regarding the construction and maintenance of assigned structures, facilities, and systems
- Delivering scope while meeting or exceeding design and client's quality, fit and finish expectations
- Communicating and enforcing the Cam Clark Auto Group safety practices to laborers and sub-contractors; enforcing safety regulations on all job sites
- Maintaining clean and organized job sites
- Other duties as required
- **To be successful in this role you must have**:_
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Project Management, or Civil Engineering preferred
- At least five years of project management experience in a construction environment required; experience working on automotive dealership facilities would be considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- At least five years of experience managing a diverse team of laborers and sub-contractors
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and US construction regulations
- Strong technical knowledge of modern construction practices and techniques
- Ability to analyze plans, specifications, and proposals
- Ability to work effectively and build relationships across all levels of the organization
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with construction software
- Ability to make difficult decisions in a timely and responsible manner
- Strong work ethic and leadership amongst team members
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- **Worksite requirements**_:
- Ability to travel to all worksites as needed
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, or stretching
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the job site
