**The Purchasing Lead’s responsibilities include the following**:

- Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to the powerline industry;
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements;
- Monitor market trends and conditions specific to powerline materials and equipment;
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance for powerline-related materials and services;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors;
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and address any issues promptly;
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers and contractors;
- Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and procurement policies;
- Manage contract renewals and extensions specific to powerline projects;
- Oversee the day-to-day procurement activities and ensure timely delivery of powerline materials and services;
- Manage the procurement team, providing guidance, training, and support;
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation;
- Monitor procurement budgets and expenditures related to powerline projects;
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce expenses;
- Prepare reports and analyses on procurement activities and performance;
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to powerline procurement;
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement process;
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure ethical and transparent procurement practices; and
- Previous work experience in a European country is an asset.

**Requirements**:
**Skills (education, experience)**:

- Bachelor of Business Degree (or similar) is required
- Proven experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the powerline or utility industry
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools
- Knowledge of procurement best practices and market trends specific to the powerline industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering and construction
- Preferred qualifications include: Professional certification such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM); Experience in the powerline or utility sector; and/or Advanced degree (e.g., MBA).
