**A day in the life of a Novatecher**:
From the start of each project to the finishing touches, we strive to be trusted experts and true partners to each one of our clients. We're currently looking for a new **Purchaser** to join our team, following the upcoming retirement of one of our colleagues. This role would ideally be based out of our Calgary or Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue office.

**Purchasing** 
- Coordinate the procurement of materials for internal sales, service departments, and system groups from designated suppliers. Track and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery, in alignment with the required delivery dates specified by internal or external clients.
- Maintain up-to-date purchase order information in SAP and proactively inform the relevant internal client if delivery timelines are delayed significantly beyond their requested dates.
- Offer research support for parts and equipment procurement for all Novatech departments.

**Supplier Relationship Management**
- Seek opportunities to reduce purchasing costs by working with suppliers and negotiating favorable terms with existing vendors, aiming to improve overall procurement efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze and categorize supplier performance through Supplier Reviews, to identify improvement opportunities, with a focus on enhancing on-time delivery rates, communication and overall supplier reliability.

**Inventory Management**
- Understand stock levels, reorder points, and safety stock.
- Contribute to estimating and calculating inventory management requirements for parts, including Min-Max levels and safety stock, to maintain optimal stock availability and minimize excess inventory.
- Support the purchasing process improvements**,** including MRP optimization, inventory level adjustments, and planning enhancements in SAP, while contributing to special initiatives such as Kanban implementation and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support the inventory lead in investigating and correcting inventory errors, helping to prevent recurrence through root cause analysis.
- Continuously coordinate between internal and external procurement to optimize current stock while fulfilling customer demand. 
- Knowledge of MRP systems, _Just-In-Time_, and ISO quality systems are assets
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Independent, self-motivated to learn, adaptable to change
- Good decision making / problem solving skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Good organization and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Basic Excel)

**What we are looking for**:

- Post-secondary education in a related field and/or equivalent practical experience in procurement or supply chain.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position in a manufacturing company integrating MRP, just-in-time and ISO quality standards 
- Strong written & verbal communication skills in English and French (asset)
