Job Summary

The Canadian Cancer Trials Group (CCTG) Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Indigeneity and Accessibility (EDIIA) Action Plan is a strategic initiative from the Office of the Director with this role reporting to the Director of Compliance. The EDIIA Lead is a key resource to CCTG on managing projects related to EDDIA initiatives. The incumbent provides analytical, research, administrative and project management support to facilitate the CCTG EDIIA Action Plan, strategic decision-making and advance EDIIA initiatives throughout CCTG. This includes developing proposals and preparing reports, presentations and briefing notes. In addition, the incumbent serves as the primary contact for the CCTG EDIIA Action Plan, supporting the working group, and providing information and advice to internal and external stakeholders.

Working closely with the CCTG leadership team, working group members and key stakeholders, the EDIIA Lead is accountable for the day-to-day operational aspects of the assigned projects and will create and execute approved work plans, identify required resources, and review associated deliverables. The incumbent will involve Indigenous and other equity deserving communities in aspects of research to ensure that CCTG is conducting research in a culturally safe way that is welcoming to diverse participants and reduces barriers to participation.

The EDIIA Lead builds relationships within CCTG and the external network and plays a significant role in the CCTG effort to enhance Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Indigeneity and Accessibility in our research practices and operations.

**Job Description**:

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide leadership and expertise in planning, developing and executing the CCTG EDIIA Action Plan, and planning EDIIA strategic initiatives and programs.
- Plan and oversee project development on a variety of EDIIA initiatives, including establishing, monitoring, and communicating project timelines and milestones, and coordinating the work of faculty and staff.
- Coordinate data collection and perform data analysis to evaluate options and outcomes for new and existing projects that promote EDIIA strategic initiatives; perform research, conduct data queries and analyze/interpret information to support recommendations for action.
- Assess research project plans and identify how to improve access to clinical trials for equity deserving groups.
- Coordinate and manage the CCTG EDIIA Working Group. The work will include preparing meeting material, attending meetings, serving as a resource for the groups, assigning action items for follow up and establishing and managing annual work plans.
- Develop briefing notes, correspondence, reports, presentations, proposals and other short and long term planning documents that can be sensitive and/or confidential in nature.
- Works with CCTG Communications to disseminate information regarding CCTG EDIIA Initiatives, including culturally appropriate patient information.
- Lead planning and implementation of an EDIIA Workshop with key internal and external stakeholders from across the industry.
- Assess learning needs within CCTG staff and faculty; plan, develop and execute ongoing educational initiatives to continuously advance knowledge and understanding of EDIIA principles and best practices.
- Serves as the primary liaison for the CCTG EDIIA Action Plan and communicates with internal and external stakeholders providing advice and guidance to staff, faculty and other stakeholders; builds positive and sustainable relationships.
- Build a network of relationships with University partners such as the Human Rights and Equity Office, the QHS Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Office, develop and maintain detailed knowledge of University policies and procedures, hierarchy and protocols, as they relate to EDIIA activities and research in order to ensure timely and effective implementation of initiatives and programs.
- Demonstrate commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment, and contribute to a high-performing team that is respectful and collaborative.
- Undertake other duties as required in support of the CCTG EDIIA Action Plan.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- University degree in a relevant field such as, Education, Social Work, Policy Studies, Health Sciences or related field with a focus on equity, diversity and inclusion. Master’s degree preferred.
