The Production Coordinator at Air Liquide plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the manufacturing process within the Winnipeg hub. This position is responsible for guiding and overseeing daily production tasks, optimizing workflows, and ensuring adherence to stringent safety and quality standards. This role acts as a central point of contact for operational activities in the midwest, bridging the gap between planning, execution, and support functions, however is office based in the Winnipeg Hub,. This role requires proactive problem-solving, effective communication, and the ability to coordinate diverse tasks and resources to achieve production targets.
**Key Roles and Responsibilities**:
**The responsibilities of the Production Coordinator are comprehensive, focusing on operational excellence, safety, and efficient resource management**:
**Operational Oversight & Safety**:
- **Guide, delegate, and supervise daily work tasks within the production unit**, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the manufacturing process in the cylinder filling plant.
- **Demonstrate a thorough understanding and unwavering adherence to all plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies/procedures**, including active participation in facility safety meetings, conducting inspections, and promoting a proactive safety culture.
- **Conduct operational checks of equipment, monitor performance, and make necessary adjustments to optimize production output and quality.**
- **Make and log equipment rounds and conduct safety inspections.**
**Production Planning & Coordination**:
- **Coordinate with sales, logistics, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure timely and efficient production flow and meet daily/weekly targets.**
- **Identify and resolve potential scheduling conflicts and bottlenecks within the production process.**
- **Lead and coordinate shutdowns, start-ups, and production state changes for the plant, ensuring safety and efficiency.**
- **Communicate and manage any production-related backorders or delays with internal teams and local branches.**
**Material Flow & Inventory Management**:
- **Oversee the shipping&receiving process**, verifying incoming materials and supplies against packing slips and BOLs and ensuring accurate paperwork.
- **Take corrective action for overages, shortages, damaged/incorrect items, or improper documentation, communicating issues to relevant teams.**
- **Manage the weekly incoming and outgoing Interbranch shipments and P&D Runs**related to raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods, ensuring efficient logistics.
- **Manage and maintain accurate inventory records**, tracking stock levels of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products.
- **Manage monthly inventory audits and reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.**
- **Implement and maintain inventory and shipping control procedures to optimize efficiency and minimize loss.**
**Computerized Systems & Documentation**:
- **Validate and complete reception of Interbranch Shipments and other material transactions within computerized systems (e.g., Servitrax, Maximo, SAP).**
- **Review system data daily, enter data to keep databases up-to-date, and maintain all computerized systems and equipment to meet user needs, especially those related to production, inventory, and shipping.**
- **Keep accurate records and maintain high housekeeping and organizational standards.**
- **Study and maintain site-specific standard operating procedures, P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams), PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams), and other technical documentation.**
**Reporting and Analysis**:
- **Prepare and analyze operational reports, tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for production, quality, safety, shipping, and inventory.**
- **Identify areas for improvement, present findings to management, and recommend operational enhancements.**
**Plant Administration & Process Improvement**:
- **Provides Plant Administration Support: Help manage certain aspects of purchasing and invoicing activities for production-related supplies and services, including sourcing, requesting quotes, and generating purchase orders.**
**Works with the production team and cross-functional teams to**continuously improve work processes**, identifying causes of dysfunction and proposing appropriate corrective measures to enhance safety, efficiency, and quality.

**Are you a MATCH?**:
- **Associate's degree in a related technical field**or **High School Diploma/GED with significant practical experience**1-3 years in a manufacturing, process plant, or industrial operations environment.
- **Experience in industrial gas, chemical manufacturing, or a similar process-driven industry is highly preferred.**
