Safety Specialist/ Project Coordinator

**Job Summary**
The Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and procedures that promote workplace safety and health. The Safety Coordinator will collaborate with various departments to identify potential hazards, provide training, and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
**Duties**
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety training programs for employees at all levels.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with management to fabricate safety protocols that meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and compliance documentation.
- Facilitate safety meetings and provide ongoing communication regarding safety policies and procedures.
- Investigate accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding safety concerns, providing guidance on best practices.
- Assistant project coordinator - will assist project manager with sov, submittals etc, when needed
**Qualifications**
- Proven experience in a safety coordination role or similar position is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Experience in training development, with the ability to create engaging educational materials.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey safety information.
- Strong analytical skills to assess risks and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining a strong focus on safety objectives.
- Certification in occupational health and safety or related field is a plus but not required.
- Understand the drywall & steel stud industry
This position requires a proactive approach to creating a safe work environment while fostering a culture of safety awareness among all employees. As assistant project coordinator, this position is valuable in ensure smooth processing of each project
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,782.12-$86,613.69 per year

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Willingness to travel:
- 25% (preferred)
