**Attendance is optional and will not influence the selection process.**About the job**: In this role, you will:

- plan, develop, coordinate, and implement event marketing and communications strategies for the program area, including domestic and international events, advertising, public relations, and market research for our foreign direct investment (FDI) program
- lead the design, development and maintenance of the branch's promotional materials
- ensure consistency in all marketing and communication materials
- develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with technical staff and stakeholders
- serve as a liaison with the corporate communications branch
- coordinate the planning and implementation of seminars, workshops and industry events

**What you bring to the team**:
**Mandatory requirements**:

- This position may require travel within the province of Ontario to locations that may not be accessible via public transportation.

**Project management skills**:

- You have project/event management skills and demonstrated experience in event planning/coordination to plan and coordinate multiple concurrent events in a corporate environment.

**Marketing and communications experience**:

- You have knowledge of marketing theories, principles and techniques.
- You have knowledge of current and emerging marketing tools, channels and technologies.
- You have experience developing marketing and communications plans to ensure the achievement of business goals.
- You have experience tailoring marketing and communications products for specific audiences.

**Communication and interpersonal skills**:

- You have strong written communication skills to prepare marketing plans as well as content for marketing and communications products.
- You are able to work effectively in a team environment.
- You have the ability to develop lasting relationships with stakeholders

**Other essential skills**:

- You have analytical skills to assess and define marketing needs, approaches and target audiences.
- You have evaluation skills to review and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
- You have organizational skills to confirm and coordinate logístical details for seminars, workshops and industry events.
- You have the ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a customer-service mindset.
