**Estimator - Metro-Can Construction**

**Responsibilities**:

- Study plans, specifications, addenda, and construction conditions to assess and validate overall project requirements set by Owner/consultants.
- Measure quantities from bid documents, clarifying discrepancies, omissions, and changes with consultants and subtrades to ensure accuracy in cost estimation.
- Complete a comprehensive quantity take-off for labor, equipment, and materials as per contract specifications to ensure precise pricing.
- Establish a critical path schedule with milestone progress dates and completion timelines aligned with contract deadlines.
- Solicit and follow-up pricing from subcontractors and suppliers for labor, equipment, and materials, emphasizing the lowest cost while meeting safety and quality standards.
- Analyze quotations submitted by subtrades/suppliers and collaborate with other estimators to effectively close various scopes.
- Develop the final cost estimate incorporating labor, equipment, material data, pricing documentation, overhead, and profit margins. Support in the preparation of bid proposals ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate and communicate with subtrades/suppliers on the scope of work.
- Provide tender recommendations to Project Managers for subcontract awards.
- Prepare tender documents by organizing and preserving all estimate information for handover to the project manager.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
- Excellent math and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail is a key strength.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Awareness of regulations and price trends.
- Sound knowledge of building materials and construction methods.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Onscreen Takeoff, Procore, Bluebeam) and a strong ability to adopt new technology.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the construction estimating field.
