As a SILP Assistant, you will empower individuals with developmental disabilities to safely and happily live independently. Based on the identified gifts and challenges of each person, you will participate in the design and implementation of an individualized program plan to support him/her. You will provide one-on-one support to assist each person to meet his/her goals in areas such as: banking, apartment maintenance, meal preparations, medical appointments, personal care, emotional growth, and participation in community life. This program is built on a vision of nurturing personal growth through friendship.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree/Diploma in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies or related field
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Standard First Aid/CPR, is required
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) or willingness to obtain
- Full class 5 Driver’s License, is required
- Desire to understand and participate in the mission and vision of L’Arche
- Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector Search) is required

***Particulars**:

- 40 hours per week
- Shifts will include weekdays, weekends, daytime, and evening hours
