**Responsibilities**:
The Financial Analyst role is an important role across the finance portfolio, ensuring all processes and system technology is efficient and working to support stakeholders, customers, vendors, and employees.
The Financial Analyst will have key relationships across the Finance team and with senior leaders across NS Health and will be assigned accountability for initiatives and projects that involve coordination with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities include supporting financial, payroll, budget and cost decisions while dealing with accounting issues, financial planning, continuous quality improvements, forecasting, variance analysis, efficiency creation and other duties as assigned.
The analyst is responsible for the creation, management and dissemination of accurate and timely reporting and analysis for their department/service/zone. The analyst provides proactive expertise and advice in conducting analysis and developing recommendations to support provincial business decision making, reduce risks and assist in business initiatives that support and improve performance.
**Qualifications**:
- Graduate of a recognized post-secondary business and/or accounting program
- Undergraduate degree preferred
- Enrolment or completion of accounting designation considered an asset
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years' strong functional system experience and knowledge of budget, corporate reporting, general accounting, financial analytics. Recent relevant experience within the last 5 years
- Possesses a solid understanding of the finance processes and key performance indicators
- Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel
- Experience in engaging, mentoring and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participative manner to respond to the mission, vision, goals and objectives an organization
- Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

**Hours of Work**:
- Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
**Salary Information**:
$31.08 - $38.85 hourly
