**Job description**

**Position Summary**:
The Estimator provides cost estimates for projects in the Automatic door industry. The Estimator prepares estimate documents for presentation to customers.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Preparing takeoffs/estimates for jobs & service work orders
- Preparing and following up on quotations and tenders
- Reviewing all contracts and accepted quotations
- Entering work orders into Jonas Construction software and preparing appropriate material orders and purchase orders
- Staying informed on all new materials
- Discussions with customers to better understand their needs and requirements
- Ensures compliance with the client’s request and, if necessary, makes recommendations in collaboration with employees from other departments
- Estimates the material required to accomplish each project based on the specifics and needs for the customer
- Prepares all the necessary documents on a regular basis to ensure equipment and the support to carry out the projects
- Will be cross trained to assist the service coordinator

**Qualifications**:

- Civil Engineering Technology Program or related work experience is required or equivalent combination of work experience and education
- Understand and prepare take offs and estimates in a timely manner
- Experience with automatic doors is as an asset
- Blueprint reading is an asset
- Ability to read specs & drawings is an asset
- Bilingual in English and French is a requirement
- Proficiency in MS office software, Excel, Word, Outlook
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills
- Streamlines processes to improve efficiency
- Demonstrates initiative
- Ability to work within a multifunctional team
- Experience working with Jonas Construction is an asset
- Have a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract

**Salary**: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
