**Position Summary**:
The Assistant Commercial Estimator will support the estimating team by performing tasks such as calculating electrical materials and interpreting electrical drawings for bidding and estimating purposes. This role involves assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, ensuring accuracy, and meeting deadlines. The role is suited for individuals with strong attention to detail, basic math skills, and a willingness to learn within a fast-paced, office-based environment.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Review and interpret commercial electrical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Assist in performing quantity take-offs and pricing for materials and labor.
- Help prepare and organize bid packages and related documentation.
- Contact suppliers for pricing, availability, and clarification as needed.
- Track and maintain accurate estimate records and filing systems.
- Support the estimating team in meeting deadlines for bids and proposals.
- Perform basic administrative and data entry tasks related to the estimating process.
**Required Skills & Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical coursework or construction knowledge is a plus.
- Basic understanding of measurements and material quantities (training provided).
- Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Google drive and comfortable using standard office software.
- Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work independently with oversight.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn industry-specific knowledge.
**Growth Path & Opportunities**:
This role is designed as an entry point into commercial estimating. With experience, the Assistant Estimator may grow into other relevant roles.
Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
