Pr Specialist

We're seeking a PR Specialist to connect this vision to new and current customers and stakeholders to drive brand and product awareness, plus build tentree's profile and leadership in restorative action to save the planet.

Working closely alongside the Senior Marketing Manager, this role reports to the Senior Brand Director and is responsible for building the PR strategy for North America, which includes media list curation, release writing and distribution, pitching, leading media interviews and messaging, prepping spokespeople as well as results reporting. In addition, this role will also provide a percentage of PR support to our sister company, veritree, where you will identify and synergize PR, earned media and thought leadership opportunities between the two organizations.

What Will You Be Doing?
- You will develop PR strategies and approaches to drive earned coverage on our brand, products, people and values, as well as provide additional support (about 25% of your time) to our sister company, veritree
- You will act as the first point of contact for all media inquiries for tentree and veritree, which includes assessing recommended next steps.
- You will set clear and measurable objectives for PR initiatives and campaigns, as well as tactics/approaches to support assigned metrics/goals.
- You will ideate, develop and execute seasonal and ongoing PR strategies to generate earned coverage to drive brand discovery and purchase, including creating and writing PR releases and opinion pieces, pitches, media list curation and reporting.
- You will collaborate with Brand team peers to ensure PR effectively supports integrated marketing initiatives, campaigns and seasonal product launches to generate coverage to elevate brand and product awareness and reach.
- You will evaluate opportunities for brand partnerships, media sponsorships, events and influencer partnerships.
- You will seek out awards submissions and speaking opportunities that honour tentree brand values, restorative initiatives, products, campaigns, workplace and its people.
- You will maintain a strong understanding of industry trends affecting tentree and make appropriate recommendations around PR strategy.
- You will manage brand reputation through issues plus crisis messaging and strategies as needed for both tentree and veritree.
- You will develop comprehensive monthly and post-campaign media coverage results.
- You will perform other duties as required/assigned by the Senior Brand Director.

**Requirements**:

- Professional Requirements: _
- 5+ years of experience in Public Relations management and activations
- Strong and proven proactive and reactive media relations skills, including pitching to deliver high-quality media coverage and influencer engagement
- Successful track record of PR campaigns that embrace both corporate and product brand messaging with demonstrated ability to align and position to reach and engage target audiences
- Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills, including experience dealing with senior decision-makers
- PR agency experience (preferred)
- Consumer product and/or apparel industry experience (preferred)
- Media crisis and issues management experience (preferred)
