Assistant Supervisor, Warehouse

**Position Objective**
To ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse during the shift by supervising the shift employees and meeting daily warehouse operational objectives
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Job Knowledge
- Assign workers to offload incoming trucks for receiving operation
- Assist with the unloading of trucks in a safe and timely manner; print paperwork and labels in preparation for loads arrival
- Ensure quality and integrity of product is maintained by storing product in appropriate cooler temperatures
- Ensure product is put in the appropriate bin location within the cooler to ensure inventory accuracy
- Ensure proper documentation is obtained from the drivers, confirming correct destination
- Oversee the restocking of coolers with inbound product
- Create, manage and administer inventory functions for the shift; including but not limited to, list for selectors, quantities in the system, and pallet control process
People Management
- Supervise shift employees to ensure completion of work orders, transfer output, assign appropriate breaks, monitor compliance, oversee shipping & receiving operations
- Ensure loads for shipments, receiving of loads, and other assigned tasks are completed by workers in a timely manner
- Train, coach, monitor all staff on operational procedures, policies, safety regulations, etc.
- Delegate work to staff according to operational needs and assign work according to urgency of order completion
Communication
- Maintain communication with staff throughout shift as required
- Communicate with management group to ensure smooth transition from shift to shift
- When necessary, notify appropriate party (Sales, Buyers, Quality Control) of product rejections due to quality issues
Record Keeping
- Oversee Shipping and Receiving documentation pertaining to pickups and deliveries
- Ensure Shippers manifest quantity match internal product orders/documentation
- Record product quantities in the internal system
- Ensure physical put away is completed and documented in the system
Customer Focus
- Monitor and report on employee attendance as per posted schedules
- Coordinate outbound transfers to internal companies
- Ensure all customer deliveries are picked and ready for shipment in timely manner
Inventory Control
- Monitor and report on inventory discrepancies regularly
- Ensure cooler accuracy by overseeing workers’ picks, put-aways, and receiving.
Compliance
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Ensure proper product handling to maintain product integrity, safety, food handling regulations, HACCP, BRC, GMP and applicable guiding legal regulations
Promotes and works to maintain workplace health and safety, through active compliance with all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
Any other duties as required.
**Qualifications**
- Post-Secondary Education in Business or Supply Chain Management is an asset
- High School Diploma
- 2+ years of warehouse & distribution experience, fresh produce experience considered to be an asset
- Pallet building knowledge
- Lift up to 50 lbs floor to waist, waist to shoulder and above shoulder
- Using equipment such as pallet truck, Raymond Reach, Counterbalance, etc.
- 2+ years of vehicle and equipment experience with Raymond Reach, Counterbalance, and Pallet Truck
**Salary**: From $45,000.00 per year
