Vaughan, Canada AD Waters Distribution Inc. Full time

Purpose of the position

The incumbent will act as a general assistant within the warehouse and will be required to perform a variety of tasks as needed. Thus, s/he will be able to take care of the warehousing, the maintenance of the warehouse, and the preparation of the orders, the shipment or the reception of goods.

Tasks and responsibilities
- Assist employees in receiving the goods;
- Help empty the goods of a truck;
- Determine whether items should be sent or placed in the warehouse by reading and interpreting the order;
- Place items in the warehouse and use a cart or forklift if necessary;
- Make sure the items are well placed on the shelves based on item type and size;
- Regularly check that the goods are in the right place;
- Ensure items taken to prepare orders to be shipped are not broken or damaged and notify the immediate supervisor if this is the case;
- Bring orders from the warehouse to the packing area;
- Pack the goods by placing them in boxes that have been identified correctly;
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the warehouse on a daily basis;
- Move any obstructions (boxes, products, etc.) that may be on the floor and affect the health and safety of employees;
- Other related tasks.

Required qualities
- Completed High School Diploma
- Aptitude
- The ability to work in a team
- Sense of initiative
- Fast and accurate execution of tasks
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to tolerate repetition
- Ability to work standing over a long periods of time
- Ability to lift heavy loads
- Forklift certification training is a definite asset
- 1 to 2 years warehouse experience

Working conditions

Regular schedule of 40 hours a week, from Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

The incumbent will have the opportunity to work overtime with the approval of the supervisor.

Physical requirements

The incumbent of this position will be required to work standing for the most part of his duties and will also be required to lift and move loads frequently.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
