**Job description**

Dr. Golisky Family Medicine provides comprehensive primary care to a large roster of patients at the Huronia Medical Centre.

Currently, our team is looking for a Medical Office Assistant who can work for us on a full-time basis (4 to 5 days per week).

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Provide high quality service in a fast-paced environment
- Triage incoming calls and information as appropriate
- Coordinating the flow of patients in the examination areas to ensure efficient use of the office space and the Physician's schedule
- Other duties/tasks as assigned

**Preferred skills and abilities**:

- Excellent multi-tasking capabilities; proven ability to handle a very busy office environment and multiple telephone lines
- Excellent English communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic)
- Experienced with front line administrative support in a fast-paced office environment that focuses on customer service.
- Comfortable with both paper and electronic patient file management.
- Agreeable to participate in applicable background checks as a condition of employment
- Demonstrated self-management and self-motivation skills
- Ability to work well independently and as team member

**Requirements preferred, but not limited to**:

- Previous experience as a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) is considered an asset.
- Relevant experience working in a medical office environment is considered an asset.
- Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Records or proficiency in Accuro is considered an asset.
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology is considered an asset.
- Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills

**Essential Duties**:

- Defined as physically sedentary; dexterity in hands and neck flexion, frequent upper extremity use in reach zone
- Cognitively requires visual and audio acuity, active listening and English communication skills (speaking, reading, writing); applies situational sensitivity with coworkers, clients, families and referral sources
- Memory, attention to detail/concentration, ability to accommodate change, responsible decision making and role accountability, exposure to environmental stimuli/distraction

**Hours of work**:

- Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm with 60 minute unpaid lunch. Some flexibility in hours will be required to meet office needs. Some additional hours may be required.

Pay: $23.00-$24.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- No weekends
