**Job Summary**:

D2L's Business Analyst is responsible for bringing together cross-functional Business Stakeholders to support the Customer Journey. As a Business Analyst in IT, you will be responsible for working with stakeholders to gain alignment on key business initiatives that drive strategic value with a focus on teams that directly support our Brightspace Customers. In this role, you will review, refine and translate requirements into detailed documents or process maps. These requirements and/or process maps will be finalized and reviewed with key stakeholders and IT Teams to ensure alignment with technology platforms, solutions, and business goals. You will collaborate with IT Teams to assist with the development of solutions to ensure the functionality meets the needs of D2L stakeholders.

In this role you will use data analytics and process measurements to evaluate business processes and solutions and identify areas of improvement to present to the IT Leadership Team for review and alignment. Additionally, you are a key member of IT Projects providing support with; business requirements gathering & documentation, process documentation, use case development, test cases, testing, solution alignment and communication.

**How Will I Make an Impact?**
- Support the alignment of what success looks like for key business teams/outcomes
- Understand key business problems and how to implement change to deliver strategic value
- Identify business trends utilizing real data, compile analysis reports that are delivered to developers and then follow up on all results
- Elicit requirements, determine and document user requirements/user stories for business processes and abide by those requirements for future projects
- Requirements management and communication
- Through requirements analysis, translate and simplify requests for development
- Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
- Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
- Improve systems by studying current practices, designing modifications
- Recommend controls by identifying problems, writing improved procedures
- Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget
- Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
- Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
- Interpret, evaluate, and interrelate research data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making
- Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes
- Create informative, actionable, and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement
