**Internship objective**

The person selected for the stewardship internship will participate in the implementation of NCC's protected areas management activities in certain regions of Quebec. More specifically, they will carry out tasks related to the monitoring of protected properties, public awareness and habitat management.

This internship is designed to provide a stimulating, learning environment. It will provide an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in conservation on private land, as well as to deepen knowledge of habitats and rare species in the target region.

**Tasks and responsibilities**

Field Work (65%)
- Monitor biodiversity targets and threats on protected properties.
- Carry out ecological inventories on properties targeted for conservation.
- Participate in the monitoring of terrestrial and aquatic invasive exotic species.
- Raise awareness among land users and neighboring landowners.
- Contribute to the implementation of volunteer activities.

Office Work (35%)
- Plan field trip logistics.
- Consult internal interactive maps.
- Compile information gathered in the field into a database.
- Write property visit reports and activity reports related to conservation or ecological connectivity.

**Capitale-Nationale (16 weeks, 2 positions available)**

Quebec City office (870 de Salaberry Ave., Suite 133), hybrid mode

**Internship features**:participation in a common reed control project on Île-aux-Grues. Properties to be visited during the internship are located in the Capitale-Nationale, Chaudière-Appalaches, Estrie and Côte-Nord regions. Workplace language is French.

**Montreal Greenbelt (16 weeks, 2 positions available)**

Montreal office (1055 René-Lévesque Blvd. East, Suite 300), hybrid mode

**Internship features**:buckthorn control activities in Senneville and Saint-André-d'Argenteuil, project to monitor a vegetation protection exclosure, participation in the removal of a building (restoration). Workplace language is French.

**Eastern Townships, Montérégie and Greater Montreal (16 weeks, 1 position available)**

Sutton office (24B, rue Principale Sud, Sutton), hybrid mode

**Internship features**:focus on conservation servitude compliance visits, ecological characterizations and floristic inventories in the company of a botanist. Workplace language is French.

**Gaspésie (16 weeks, 1 position available)**

Gaspé office (137, rue de la Reine), hybrid mode

**Internship features**:user awareness and monitoring of ecological indicators on the Malbaie River. Effectiveness monitoring of wildlife crossings in the Forillon ecological corridor. Workplace language is French.

**Internship features**:property and servitude visits, ecological characterizations and wildlife and plant inventories. Target period for the internship mid to late June to mid-August (to be discussed with the Gaspé team). Workplace language is French.

**Îles-du-Fleuve-Saint-Laurent (16 weeks, 1 position available)**

Montreal office (1055 René-Lévesque Blvd. East, Suite 300), hybrid mode

**Internship features**:conduct stewardship and lease compliance visits, accompany consultants and volunteers in the field. Workplace language is French.

**Laurentians and Plaisance-Tremblant corridor (35 weeks, 1 position available)**

Choice of working from home in the Lower Laurentians or hybrid at the Montreal office (1055 René-Lévesque Blvd. East, Suite 300).

**Internship features**:invasive exotic species control activities, floristic inventories, patrols, awareness-raising and support for trail development at Réserve naturelle Alfred-Kelly. Workplace language is French.

**Laurentians and Plaisance-Tremblant corridor (16 weeks, 1 position available)**

Choice of working from home in the Lower Laurentians or hybrid at the Montreal office (1055 René-Lévesque Blvd. East, Suite 300).

**Internship features**:ornithological and floristic inventories, control of invasive exotic species. Availability for sleeping outdoors on consecutive days. Pleasure craft license required. Workplace language is French.

**Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec (16 weeks, 2 positions available)**
