Quality Control Technician

Ewing Fabricators 1845 Inc. is looking to hire a Quality Control Technician to join our team in our precast facility. The Quality Control Technician will report directly to the Q.C Supervisor. The position will include assisting with daily activities of the Quality Control Department. The Q.C Technician will be responsible for conducting daily inspections, testing, monitoring and reporting as well as ensuring all products made in the plant meet applicable standards.

**Summary**

**Responsibilities**:

- Daily inspection of all products produced to ensure no defects. Ensure all products meet applicable standards.
- Input data into quality control matrix, perform inspection reports
- Batch concrete according to mix designs and product specifications
- Cast cylinder samples and/or beam samples for testing, perform daily cylinder breaks and produce report. Perform all testing as required.
- Perform Raw Material Testing of concrete including temperature, air content, slump, compression cylinder tests and maintain daily records.
- Conduct Pre-Pour and Post-Pour Inspections. Verify that the products manufactured are according to the drawing
- Responsible for labelling and coding products once inspection is complete
- Check all dimensions to ensure accuracy. Inspect all finished products for colour, texture or imperfections
- Perform incoming inspection on all incoming material
- Weekly inspection of equipment used in the production of concrete products
- Produce and update all paperwork concerning the production of concrete & steel products (material certificates, inspection reports, etc.)
- Oversee all production and repair work
- Assist in maintaining quality control systems (ISO, CPCQA,third party audits)
- Work alongside Foreman and supervisor to help fix any problems that may arise in the production
- Maintain a safe work environment for all employees
- Other applicable duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Experience in a related field is an asset
- Familiarity with standards relating to precast concrete
- College Diploma in a Construction/Civil Engineering or related field
- Strong organization skills and a strong attention to detail
- Proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in all condition
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

**Physical Effort** - Estimated 80%-90% of the time is spent in the Yard/Plant and 10-20% office, depending upon priorities of the day. Constant bending, standing and walking and the ability to move light to moderate material or equipment is required.

**Physical Environment** -Approximately 80 - 90% outdoors or in plant facility. Outdoor work environment which could include exposure to adverse weather conditions, some stress due to adherence to deadlines, which may require some overtime or variable work hours. Indoor work environment in an average factory type building, which can be dirty, noisy, damp, and not uniformly heated. The incumbent is exposed to noise, dust, and occasional welding fumes and flashes. Safety boots and associated PPE are required for all time spent on the floor and/or Yard.

**Sensory Attention** - A great deal of attention, both seeing and hearing, is required at all times. In an active production or construction environment, the risk of accidents occurring is present. Attention must be given to accident potential in all areas of the plant and shipping yard, and in field operations.

Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
