**About the Role**
As an **Administrative Assistant**, you’ll be at the heart of our Tax Services Branch, supporting both the **Client and Legal Services and Information Services** teams. You’ll play a key role in coordinating the dispute resolution process, managing administrative systems, and ensuring smooth operations across the branch.
This is more than just an administrative role — it’s a chance to be the first point of contact for tax objections and waiver requests, providing vital support to both internal and external stakeholders, while helping to uphold the integrity of Alberta’s tax programs.
**What You’ll Do**
- **Coordinate Dispute Resolution**: Manage waiver and objection files using the DRATS system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislation.
- **Support Branch Operations**: Arrange meetings, coordinate travel, manage time reporting, and assist with publications and policy updates.
- **System Maintenance**: Provide technical support for DRATS, assist with testing and upgrades, and maintain user access.
- **Records Management**: Maintain SharePoint and M Drive content, archive documents, and support file retrieval processes.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**: Communicate with internal teams and external clients, resolving inquiries and escalating complex issues as needed.
**What You Bring**
- Several years of administrative experience
- Strong understanding of TRA programs and dispute resolution processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Excel
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and conflict resolution skills

The Administrative Assistant will have to liaise with the senior members of the team in order to ensure that the dispute resolution process is administered in accordance with the applicable legislation. **Creative Problem Solving**: The Administrative Assistant will encounter technical issues with DRATS and will be required to trouble shoot the issues as they arise. They will also deal with external stakeholders on dispute resolution issues and will have to think on their feet in order to determine the best course of action in order to solve the problem.
