Guelph, Canada Barber Collins Security Services Full time

**Description**

Barber Collins security is looking for a full time Security Guard to work nights at a clients facility in Guelph, ON.

**Those who have access to their own personal vehicle will be given preference.**

**Shifts**

*Shifts have a mandatory 2-week rotation

**Week 1 (29 hours)**: Saturday, Sunday and Thursday from 7 pm to 7 am

**Week 2 (55 hours)**: Friday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 pm to 7 am

**Responsibilities**:

- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Access control for the facility/area.
- Ensuring that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
- Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.

**Skills**:

- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
- Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 29 - 55 per week

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- Every Weekend
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
