Security Guard

This is a temporary 1 day a week position with the potential for Saturday and Sunday shifts as well.
**Shifts**
Every Friday 4pm to 12 Midnight
**Responsibilities**:
- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Access control for the facility/area.
- Ensuring that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
- Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.
**Skills**:
- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
- Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 8 per week
**Salary**: $16.70 per hour
Schedule:
- Evening shift
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Guelph, ON N1G 1V3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Ontario Security Guard license (required)
