Position Description:
The MUHC performs 850 Adult Cardiac Surgical cases with emphasis on complex valvular surgery including, Aortic surgery, Heart failure (ECMO, VAD and Transplant), as well as advanced surgical treatment of coronary disease. Within the Heart Team, we have an active and diverse percutaneous valve. We work closely and collaboratively with Cardiology, Vascular Surgery and Critical Care.

The Division is active in Research (Stem Cells, Aortic Biomechanics, Clinical Outcomes) and has an important role in Surgical Education. The MUHC is a major teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Canada’s internationally renowned McGill University, located in the vibrant and multicultural city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec.

Job Duties:

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

- Hold a medical degree, and must hold or be eligible for, licensure in the province of Quebec;
- Have completed Cardiac Surgical training and be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of

Canada (or equivalent);
- Have completed a 2-year Clinical Fellowship with at least one year Clinical Fellowship in Surgical

Management of Heart Failure;
- Have additional graduate training (e.g., MSc, PhD) or expertise in surgical education;
- Be committed to, and demonstrate excellence in, clinical care, research, teaching, and innovation;
- Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary

English and in French with patients, families, and health care professionals.

McGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing.
