Position Description:
The Department of Pediatrics is a leader in academic medicine, and our educational and research missions support excellent and innovative clinical programs and research across our teaching hospitals. The Montreal Children’s Hospital of the McGill University Health Centre is one of McGill’s major teaching hospitals affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Canada’s internationally renowned McGill University, located in the vibrant and multicultural city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec. All pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties are represented at the MCH.
Our transplant program performs an average of 15-20 transplants annually (2/3 autologous and 1/3 allogeneic) using various sources of stem cells. The program is fully accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) in association with the adult transplant team at the MUHC. Our division works closely with allied pediatric services such as Immunology, Metabolics and Genetics from which patients with various medical conditions are referred for hematopoietic stem cell transplant. With the rapid development of chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T cell) therapy in Oncology, we hope to expand our program to offer CAR T-cell treatment locally.
