**The Role**

Inside Edge Properties is looking to hire a Building Operator to join our team. Working alongside other members of the building operations team and with the Property Manager, you will perform routine maintenance and upkeep of buildings in our commercial real estate portfolio.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure buildings are maintained in proper working order
- Conduct regular interior and exterior inspections of properties
- Routinely perform all work in strict accordance with governing, standard operating procedures
- Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure etc.) as well as customer concerns
- Responsible for coordinating HVAC and other preventative maintenance/service contracts.
- Make adjustments to building automation systems as needed
- Test fire alarm systems monthly
- Be available for on-call duty for after-hours building emergencies (one week per month)
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace
- Perform additional job duties as requested

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Experience in commercial office building maintenance
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, plumbing
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of building and fire codes, safety act and WHMIS procedures
- Fluently bilingual an asset, English and French
- Strong computer skills
- A valid license with reliable vehicle is required
- Portfolio in Ottawa/Gatineau area (mileage is reimbursed)
- Must be eligible for Federal Security clearances
