As an HR Generalist at Loewen Windows and Doors, you will be part of an energetic team that is committed to providing quality services, a positive environment and care for all team members. Being a driven, curious, and passionate individual, you will complete our team with your human resource experiences and range of skillsets. Located in Steinbach, MB, this role will support our business, team members, leaders, and HR team in various areas of human resources with a particular focus on recruitment, retention, and employee relations.

**What You Will Do**:

- Work as a team member alongside several other HR Coordinators, Generalists, Payroll, Safety and senior HR leaders where you will have a combination of shared and primary responsibilities in the activities listed below;
- Provide exceptional customer service to our customers that contributes to an employer of choice experience for all team members
- Develop a positive, open-door, working relationship where team members, and leaders feel welcome and supported
- Partner with hiring managers to provide full cycle recruitment support.
- Facilitate HR programs such as developing and presenting topics like orientation, benefit information sessions and policy related training
- Be a liaison for community associations and educational institutions for career fairs, tours, recruitment and partnerships opportunities
- Support HR programs such as student co-op programs, apprenticeships, and immigration recruitment strategies
- Work closely with your HR team members to action our strategic plan
- Provide employee relations support to leaders and employees, coaching and support to leaders with performance related issues and work directly with employees to address workplace/department concerns
- Assist managers on the interpretation of company policies and how to handle, document and coach through the employee relation scenario
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, documenting procedures and auditing HR related processes
- Stay well-informed of and advise leaders on various provincial legislation, employment standards and labour laws
- Participate in other ad hoc projects and initiatives as required

**What You Bring**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or Human Resources Certificate and 3+ years’ related generalist experience
- CPHR designation or working toward designation preferred
- Knowledge of employment legislation, employment law and current emerging practices and standards
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Exceptional customer service and relationship building skills
- Driven, accountable, self-starter who “gets things done”
- Curiosity with a passion for learning, openness to ask questions seeking to understand and share ideas
- Well-developed communication and presentation skills
- Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail
- Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential
- Working knowledge of UKGPro (HRIS) will be considered an asset
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
