**Duties & Responsibilities**:
This position will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
- Regular travel to US to perform routine product inspections
- Potential travel to Europe to perform product inspections
- Negotiate new purchasing contracts following prescribed guidelines
- Purchase incoming products in compliance with Canadian and country of sales regulations
- Follow up with suppliers on any questions related to the purchase order, pricing quotes, extension requests, and shipping instructions, etc
- Reviewing and processing claims against suppliers when required
- Prepare relevant reports on a regular basis to the rest of the team and management
- Support the Operations team to analyze freight rates, calculate cost of goods, and project profits
- Assist in the determination of efficient and cost-effective routes of transporting goods
- Ongoing development of understanding of the industry through product knowledge acquisition and site visits
- Other relevant job-related duties as assigned
**Education, Skills, and Experience Required**:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution
- Class G Driver's License
- Have valid travel documents for US and/or Europe
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite or Google Drive apps
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sensitivity to confidential matters is required
- Extroverted and likes to communicate with people
- Strong persuasive and negotiating skills
- Strong problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent mental math skills
- Organized and attentive to detail
- Energetic and able to quickly learn new practices
- Previous experience in procurement is an asset
