**Summary of Position**

Responsible for ensuring the general maintenance and upkeep of the cottage property as per company standards.

**Key Relationships**
- Internally: _Provide all essential information to department heads and employees.

Supervise maintenance personnel. Work with management group to continually improve the overall resort property and owner/guest experience.
- Externally: _Continuous contact with employees, guests, owners, suppliers, deliveries, building trades and inspectors requiring exceptional guest relations.

**Qualifications**

possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.

**Education**

Essential:1. High School Diploma or Vocational equivalent.

2. Ability to communicate and comprehend both orally and written in English with employees and customers.

3. Valid Drivers License required and ability to be Insured by Employer

Desirable: 1. Trade school or apprenticeship in building trades desirable.

2. Vocational training in the maintenance field.

3. Small Drinking Water Systems Certification

4. Training in pool cleaning and chemicals

5. Safety Training; ladders, chainsaws

**Knowledge**

Essential: 1. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in general maintenance related

Work i.e. electrical, plumbing, painting, wallpapering, carpentry, small

engines, automobile repair and/or welding.

**Skills & Abilities**

Essential: 1. Excellent customer service skills in order to maintain an exceptional rapport with customers and employees.

2. Supervisory skills to ensure department productivity.

3. Self starter and ability to work independently.

4. Ability to work cooperatively with management group, general manager and employees as part of a team.

5. Ability to prioritize, organize and follow-up.

6. Detail orientated and a strong sense of pride in quality workmanship.

7. Ability to maintain confidentiality of pertinent data.

**Mental Effort required to perform the job**:

- Extensive mental attentiveness and listening is required when handling owner’s and guest’s requests, monitoring equipment status and interpreting instructions.
- A high level of concentration and attention required to evaluate working conditions
- Hand and eye coordination to use tools, machines and equipment.
