**WHAT YOU’LL DO**:
As an integral member of the Occupational Health, Safety & Wellness Centre (OHSW), the Disability Case Manager (DCM) employs the principles of integrated disability management to all current cases of occupational and non-occupational illnesses or injuries.
The DCM must comply with the policies and procedures of Hospitals of Ontario Disability Income Plan (HOODIP) and OHSW in determining the eligibility of paid sick benefits and to ensure that sick benefits deplete accurately.
The primary focus is to ensure a progressive and comprehensive disability management program which results in effective early intervention and timely management of cases and safe, effective return-to-work strategies, including management and implementation of an attendance support program.
**WHAT YOU’LL BRING**:
Post-Secondary degree in a field related to Health & Safety or Human Resources;
Completion of an appropriate program and/or working towards credentials in the field of Ability/Disability Case Management (i.e., NIDMAR);
Background in a related discipline;
Minimum two years’ experience providing support in a health care setting;
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education;
Solid knowledge and implementation of the principles of ability/disability management, attendance support interventions/strategies and group benefits within a unionized environment;
Experience in facilitating return to work in temporary and permanent accommodation programs;
Demonstrated ability to manage an attendance support program;
Experience with the grievance and arbitration process as it relates to ability case management;
Experience and passion for knowledge of, and involvement in, organizational wellness initiatives, particularly mindfulness;
Working knowledge of relevant legislation, e.g. Human Rights Codes (HRC), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA);
Certification as a Disability Management Professional/Specialist is preferred; and,
Ergonomic assessment experience is preferred.
