Architectural Technician

**Overview**
The Architectural Technologist is responsible for creating a level of trust for Master Edge Homes’ clients, by forming a relationship and sense of comfort knowing they are in very good hands. The Architectural Technologist will begin the turnkey process by creating architectural drawings and estimates that fit our clients’ vision and budget. The Architectural Technologist is responsible for ensuring that all drawings and estimates are created in detail, so that there are no questions to be had later on by the clients, internal staff, consultants, or City Officials. This person is expected to act as a professional at all times and in all situations. Appropriate business casual attire is expected.

As the company’s Architectural designer, you are also responsible for creating and maintaining the Construction costs associated with each project. From preliminary estimates to continual refinement of the budget, it is the Estimator’s role to gather detailed requirements, finding valued solutions to match the client’s wish list to their budget.

Overall Resposibilites
- Liase with clients, internal teams, suppliers, sub-contractors, consultants and City officials
- Onsite design consultations
- Zoning research
- Site Measures
- Structural investigations
- Conceptual designs
- Create all necessary drawings required for the project in a timely fashion, and in accordance with the Design Agreement
- Have the ability to work in multiple CAD systems such as Chief Architect, AutoCad
- Co-ordination of structural engineer, HVAC designer, arborist, roof truss designer, surveyors, conservation authorities, city officials, etc., as required
- Actively participate in various Committees within BILD, OHBA and the CHBA
- Maintain knowledge of different building supplies and design concepts
- Maintain all paperwork and communication with external and internal team members
- Have working knowledge of contractors and drawings for all projects you are assigned
- Create construction cost estimates as outlined in the design agreement
- Perform material take-offs
- Work with the design team to compile estimates for the client's review
- Participate in budget reviews and meetings with clients
- Source and approve new subcontractors and suppliers
- Build a professional relationship with partners to ensure they meet our quality standards, terms and requirements.
- Inspect the quality of work provided by subcontractors
- Maintain knowledge of different building products and design concepts for general residential construction
- Be well-organized and efficient in all aspects of the job
- Work with Construction manager and project managers to understand the site requirements when putting together the project pricing.
- Participate in the creation and updates of Master Edge Homes standard level of quality and procedures

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
