Research Analyst, Academic Strategy

This position sits within our Virtual Learning Business, specifically in Pearson Online Learning Services (POLS), helping to support our various academic partner institutions in Higher Education.
**Your role**:
As our Research Analyst, you will support the Director of Academic Strategy and other Academic Strategists in day-to-day research activities with an emphasis on the following:
- Complete academic research requests and needs (market data, discipline data, competitive sets, data visualization, etc.)
- Update and maintain key discipline-related tools such as Career Spotlight, Environmental Scans, discipline reports (in conjunction with an Academic Strategist)
- Maintain databases such as the Comprehensive Tool, Pricing Tool, Academic Partner Tableau Opportunity Scorecard dashboard, and others
- Assist with matrix tool development such as emerging academic markets and/or program selection in conjunction with an Academic Strategist
Areas of research include resourcing from the following: Google Adwords (search volume), Emsi/Burning Glass data, BLS data, Online Degree Database, IPEDs data, discipline-specific data sources, and other sources as needed.
This role interacts with other research analysts in POLS as well as other key teams (finance, student acquisition, etc.) to share content on key work products and ensure connectivity, discuss best practices in secondary research and reporting.
**Your qualifications**:
- A 4-year degree from an accredited institution in Market Research, Statistics, Behavioral Sciences, or equivalent discipline OR appropriate combination of experience and education
- Preferably 1-2 years of experience in higher education research, marketing analytics, strategy, consulting, or related experience
- A demonstrated ability to work remotely with mínimal supervision under highly-dynamic workloads (as this is a remote-accessible position)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders to drive research efforts and actions from those efforts forward
- Ability to work creatively, using a variety of resources with a track record of developing actionable recommendations from research data and desire to stay up-to-date and engaged with cultural trends to bring fresh, relevant points of view to the development of strategy and creative visualizations
- Strong reliance on data to tell the story and ability to provide data to support or refute assumptions
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills to analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and present data findings; The ability to use and assess data - both qualitative and quantitative; the ability to structure analysis and derive logical, accurate conclusions will be critical.
- Software experience with: Tableau database and dashboard creation/updates; Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (including using and creating templates and data visualization tools)
- Preferred, but not required: Experience with educational datasets or analytical tools that monitor education, workforce, or labor trends such as: Google AdWords search volume, EMSI/ Burning Glass, BLS data, Online Degree Database, or IPEDs
