REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $22.25/hour ($18.54/hour + in lieu of benefits and vacation)

In this role, the student will be responsible for assisting with several areas within the Human Resources team. The Human Resources Student will assist with learning and development, employee wellness, employee onboarding and orientation, student placements, health and safety.

The student may also provide support other areas of our HR team such as labour relations, benefits administration, recruitment & retention, occupational health as required.

This position may be a required placement as part of a post-secondary program, or as an optional work experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Currently enrolled in a college or university in a Human Resources, Business Administration, Learning & Development, or Workplace Wellness related program.
- Preference to 2nd, 3rd or 4th year students, but not required

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

- 1-2 years’ recent relevant administrative support experience preferred
- Highly developed level of maturity as demonstrated by sound decision-making skills, excellent judgement and assessment skills
- Strong command of the English language - both written and verbal
- Excellent computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook
- Skilled in designing presentations and presenting written information in a visually appealing way
- Highly developed ability to organize and prioritize within a fast paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to commit to a highly confidential environment
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License with access to own vehicle.
