General Labourer/machine Operator

**Position Summary**

Primarily responsible for providing general labour support within the finishing department by preparing the product for gluing, feeding the gluing line and packing finished products preparing for shipping.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Hand Stripping_
- Remove waste board from boxes by hand, with a hammer or using the air gun as required - ensure boxes are not damaged
- Sort out non-conforming (yellow) tags that have been identified in previous processes and either discard or segregate from good products with the yellow tag in it and contact quality or the appropriate next process
- Gluer Feeder_
- Ensure the feed is kept filled with the correct boxes to be glued
- _Gluer Packer_
- Conduct packing activity at the gluing machines and the inspecting machine
- Ensure boxes are packed properly to prevent any damage during storage or transportation
- Stacking Inspector_
- Obtain skid for stacking inspected cartons
- Move stacked skids using lift cart into finishing staging area

Food Safety
- Adopt and display a positive approach in Food Safety issues
- Foster IPB’s commitment to a high level of Food Safety, as it pertains to our products
- Support and develop IPB’s culture of Continuous Improvement in Food Safety, supported by open communication at and between all levels of IPB

Additional
- Sundry tasks as assigned by the Die Cutting/Finishing Area Leader or the Gluer Operators
- Advise Area Leader or Night Shift Supervisor of any problems

**Education, Skills, and Experience**
- Secondary School Completion or GED equivalent or related skills.
- No previous experience is required.
- 1+ years of experience in the packaging industry, an asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail/accuracy

Pay: From $20.40 per hour
