**SUMMARY OF DUTIES**
Guides are one of the key museum ambassadors with the public, doing first-hand interpretation of the museum’s collections, exhibitions and programs. They deliver public/private tours, public and educational programs, demonstrations and activities which highlight Canadian history and Canadian innovations (both at home and abroad) in aerospace engineering, general aviation, military aviation, and space exploration. They animate and guide public programs and activities to various audiences and visitors, groups, dignitaries, and colleagues. They also assist and are responsible for general care and monitoring of the public, the public spaces within the Museum, and of the collection housed within.

**EDUCATION**
- Minimum 1 year post-secondary education (college or university) in the field of History of Aerospace, Aviation, Science, Engineering, Education, Communication, History, Museum Studies or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience;CPR and First Aid (asset).**EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum 1 year experience in interpretation, education, theatrical experience in museums, tourism, schools and or related fields;
- Minimum 1 year experience working with children, youths and the public;Minimum 1 year experience working in a front facing or customer engagement role.**KNOWLEDGE**
- Knowledge of concepts in the world of aerospace, aviation, engineering, various wars and space missions;
- Knowledge of different learning styles and interpretive techniques to deliver public and educational programming to diverse audiences of varying ages and group size;Knowledge of concepts of Canadian history and the First Nations.**COMPETENCIES**
- Ability to communicate effectively in both official languages;
- Ability to work well independently without supervision, using your time efficiently;
- Ability to work well as part of a cohesive team, being collaborative;
- Ability to deliver dynamic interpretive and educational programming in a stimulating and captivating way;
- Ability to asses all sorts of situations, remain calm, de-escalate and find solutions by using sound judgement;
- Ability to address aerospace and aviation-related questions and interact with visitors with objectivity, composure and empathy;
- Ability to listen, be patient and understand visitors;Ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand or squat for long periods of time.**Language Requirement**:Bilingual B-C ( definition )
