The purpose of this job posting is to create an active bank of candidates for six months (August 25, 2025, to February 27, 2026).

Salary range: $ $30.09 (hourly)

POSITION TYPES

• Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Guides are key ambassadors of the museum. They are responsible for delivering engaging public and educational programming that showcases past, present, and future activities which highlight Canadian history and Canadian innovations (both at home and abroad) in aerospace engineering, general aviation, military aviation, and space exploration, as well as Canadian innovations across various fields.

Guides are responsible for the interpretation of the museum's collections, exhibitions and programs to a variety of audiences. They provide demonstrations, interactive activities, guided tours and deliver educational programs.

They enrich the visitor experience and foster a deeper understanding of Canadian history, innovation, and the connections between people, technology, and the natural world.

Guides support the museum's operational needs. This may include assisting with the care and monitoring of museum spaces, services and collections, and the health and safety of visitors.

They play a vital role in upholding the museum's educational mission, enhancing visitor engagement, and contributing to membership and revenue objectives.

EDUCATION

• Minimum 1-year post-secondary education (college or university) in the field of History of Aerospace, Aviation, Science, Engineering, Education, Communication, History, Museum Studies or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience;
• CPR and First Aid (asset).

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 1 year experience in interpretation, education, theatrical experience in museums, tourism, schools and or related fields;
• Minimum 1 year experience working with children, youths and the public;
  Minimum 1 year experience working in a front facing or customer engagement role.

KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of concepts in the world of aerospace, aviation, engineering, various wars and space missions;
• Knowledge of different learning styles and interpretive techniques to deliver public and educational programming to diverse audiences of varying ages and group size;
  Knowledge of concepts of Canadian history and the First Nations.

• Ability to listen, be patient and understand visitors;
  Ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand or squat for long periods of time.
