Founded in 1986, McAvoy Rule & Company is an established presence in the Victoria business community. We offer a full range of accounting, taxation, assurance, and advisory services to small and large companies, individuals, and non-profit organizations. Our team of 18 includes three partners and nine staff CPAs. From the outset, educating prospective CPAs has been a primary focus, resulting in successful graduation of our students.

**Summary of Position**
The Articling Student will gain exposure to accounting, assurance, and taxation engagements while working with clients in a myriad of industries. All CPA students are placed in the Pre-Approved Program Route with the potential to enter the Audit Path. Work assignments will increase in complexity as the student progresses through the CPA program.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Prepare compilation and review engagement financial statements
- Prepare personal, corporate, and trust income tax returns
- Full cycle bookkeeping engagements including GST and other statutory returns
- Participate as an integral member of our financial statement audit team
- Other special accounting and consulting projects as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree (or near completion)
- Plans to enroll in the CPA program
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
