**Job Title**: Accounting Technician
**Location**: Victoria Office
**Annual Salary**: $32 -$35 per hour (pay is commensurate with experience and education)
**Schedule**: Full-time, Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)

**Key Responsibilities**
As an Accounting Technician, you will:
- Maintain the time and billing system to ensure project data (e.g., budgets, rates, phases, statuses) is accurate and complete.
- Post billable invoices to time and billing system.
- Track and post accounts receivable data to specialized client billing systems.
- Monitor customer contract balances, as required.
- Prepare client invoices in alignment with contractual agreements.
- Generate detailed activity reports to support client invoicing processes.
- Assist with business process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
**Skills and Abilities**
To thrive in this role, you should bring:
- Proficiency with database systems and accounting software such as Sage 50, as well as time, attendance & billing, and project management tools.
- A solid understanding of full-cycle accounting.
- Advanced skills MS Office Suite, especially Excel, and aptitude for technology.
- Analytical capabilities to gather, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- A growth mindset and an interest in process improvement and automation.
- Excellent organizational skills to meet strict reporting deadlines.
- Strong communication abilities to assist team members in resolving issues effectively.
**Qualifications**
- Experience: At least 2-3 years in a similar role preferred.
- Education: A degree or diploma in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
**Work Environment**
This role is based in a shared office environment. You should feel comfortable working in an open space where moderate noise levels and frequent team interactions are common.
