**Job Overview**

The accounting technician will be a key employee in recording transactions, providing analysis, and supporting many processes in the finance department. The right individual will be able to develop a wide range of accounting knowledge and technical skills in this position.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Prepare and record journal entries
- Remit monthly GST, PST returns and other compliance filings
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close by creating detailed reconciliations in Excel
- Assist with payroll and remittance of source deductions
- Perform financial analysis to help with strategic decision making
- Support the transition to new ERP system
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable for vacations
- Be willing to take on additional responsibilities

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as an Accounting Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with ADP, Xero, Workday, Kronos, or UltiPro is a plus).
- Excellent math skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and accounts receivable management is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Pay: $27.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
