Concord Projects is seeking an experienced Carpenter to work on our project sites to complete rough carpentry tasks, assist the Construction Supervisor in maintaining the company's quality standards and supervise skilled and general labourers.
**Our ideal person has these skills, knowledge, and experiences**:
- A minimum of five years' of site experience, preferably on commercial or multi-family residential projects.
- Red Seal or Journeyperson status preferred.
- Knowledge of the Manitoba Workplace Health and Safety Act.
- The ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
**The job**
The Carpenter works closely with the Construction Supervisor to build or repair structures and components on our project sites in the Winnipeg area. Some typical tasks of the job include:
- Read and interpret show drawings, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Prepare layouts that comply with building codes and safety regulations.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- Build and install backings, roof parapets, safety railings, pitch boxes, stick frame hoarding, and small concrete forms.
- Fit and install finishing items such as windows, doors, stairs, moulding, trim and hardware and bathroom accessories.
**Compensation**
Hourly wage ranges from $30.00 to $39.00 per hour based on experience and apprenticeship level.
