**Workshop and Conference Coordinator - Culture Kit Program**

**Responsibilities include**:

- Create and prepare materials for workshops and presentations
- Collaborate with Elders, resource people, Cultural Educators, Knowledge Keepers and community members
- Research and source culturally appropriate activities and resources
- Locate and book presenters for events
- Plan our yearly conference
- Coordinate and schedule workshops
- Assist in presenting workshops and presentations
- Collaborate with the culture program team to provide trainings and workshops throughout B.C.
- Create new resources for workshops, kits and trainings
- Source artisans and knowledge keepers for our program
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
- Assist in keeping the resources, equipment and materials clean, safe and well maintained
- Participate in community events during evenings and weekends as required and requested by the Culture Program Manager

**Skills and Experience**:

- Highly organized and have attention to detail
- Creative, resourceful and able to turn ideas into resources
- Computer skills in MS Office. Skills in Adobe, Canva and/or Publisher an asset
- Creativity and crafting skills an asset
- Awareness of First Nation cultures
- Able to research and source information
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Physically able to lift 50 lb totes

**Requirements**:

- Able to travel for consultations, workshops and trainings
- Able to attend conferences and events across B.C. as needed
- Able to assist in presenting activities and workshops
- Valid drivers license and use of own vehicle required
- Criminal record check completed upon hiring

**Compensation**:

- Full time 30 - 35 hrs a week
- $26.00 - $28.00 an hour to start
- 15 paid sick days a year, paid staff development
- mileage for vehicle use

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 35 per week

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Qualicum Beach, BC V9K 1Z5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
