**The Opportunity**

The **Area Leader in Production** is responsible for supervising and ensuring that the Company’s Production teams operate efficiently and effectively, achieving maximum production flow, and meeting our customers’ delivery requirements.

**Job Duties**

Supervise the Production teams including:

- Participate in the hiring, orientation, training and performance management of employees within your teams
- Design and manage workflow including setting targets, priorities and proactively identifying potential areas of concern and devising working solutions
- Ensure that staff are properly trained to perform their duties and perform regular process checks
- Provide regular feedback and coaching with team, including performance management
- Manage the team’s attendance and time-off requests to ensure adequate coverage for the different teams
- Lead regular team meetings to address any issues, provide updates and have regular touch-points with the teams

At the start of the day:

- Assess staffing levels, reporting any absences to the Area Leaders, Senior Vice President of Operations and Human Resources
- Communicate production impacts of missing employees to Senior Vice President of Operations
- Move employees between modules (within the area of responsibility) to maximize production, efficiency and cross-training opportunities
- Review time card reports and the time cards to ensure that operation codes, pieces, time classes and times scanned/punched are correct, including documenting on these reports all absences for that day and the reason

Regular Duties:

- Review quality reports daily and report findings with comments to the Senior Vice President of Operations
- Monitor shortages, bundle tickets, cancellation dates on work orders and production reports including prioritizing and expediting as necessary with appropriate communication and documentation of explanations as required
- Review production at the end of each day and enter the information in the computer system for analysis
- Coordinate and assist with production jobs (completing work only in an emergency situation) to assist in the balancing of the workflow within the modules
- Administer the Cross Training Program including monitoring employee progress and initiating qualifications
- Perform and coordinate training and cross training of team members in a way that promotes safety, high quality and productivity
- Complete Bill of Material Change forms, Maintenance Requisitions, Time Study Requisitions, and Non-Conformances in a timely manner
- Direct the training and guiding of employees in following our Quality System procedures, including non-conformances
- Promote Health and Safety and ensure that all employees are working in compliance with all policies and legislation at all times
- Be aware of the Company’s policies and procedures, including using the appropriate documentation and submitting it in a timely manner
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the Company’s standards and established safety procedures
- Maintain a good working relationship with the Union, be familiar with and follow the terms of the Collective Agreement
- Provide coverage for the other Area Leaders in their absence
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain or relevant field would be an asset
- 2-3 years of experience in Production
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and work effectively with multiple departments and individuals
- Self motivated and able to work with mínimal supervision or direction
- Positive attitude and service-oriented disposition, handles pressure well
- A continuous improvement focus on work
