Executive Chef

We’re looking for an Executive Chef to oversee the company’s dining services and meet our clients’ needs. The Executive Chef will require a broad understanding of food, an eye for presentation, organization skills and exceptional customer service. As the top culinary professional, you will ensure that all menus are tailored to the client’s tastes and preferences while staying within budget. The Executive Chef should have excellent interpersonal skills as well as knowledge of cooking techniques, menu design, food purchasing and food preparation.
**Responsibilities**:
- Create and execute a menu that meets the requirements of the venue, including the needs of customers and budget.
- Attend meetings with managers and staff members to discuss menu plan, marketing strategies, food orders and other issues.
- Procure food items, ingredients and supplies in a timely manner at the least cost and in accordance with quality standards.
- Assess the current kitchen operations; plan and implement changes to maximize efficiency, productivity and profitability.
- Train chefs and kitchen staff on proper food handling, storage and preparation techniques.
- Supervise daily operational tasks like food preparation, kitchen cleaning, inventory control, training etc. as per company policies.
- Manage supplies like herbs and spices which are ordered in bulk to save costs. Monitor staff performance by evaluating their work periodically or at the end of a shift.

Requirement:
- Legal permit to work in Canada
**Experience**:
- Previous experience of 2-3 years in a similar role is required
- Additional training will be provided
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Vancouver, BC V5N 4B9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
