**Position Overview**

Santec Canada is looking to add a Production Technician to the team. The purpose of this position is to assemble, test, and repair fiberoptic units to meet quality standards and customer satisfaction. The Production Technician will ensure that all work is completed in a professional and timely manner and while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

**Responsibilities**
- Align optical switches
- Splice fiberoptic cables
- Solder electrical and PCB cable assemblies
- Crimp cables
- Prepare, assemble and repair products and parts of varying complexity
- Arrange and organize optical fiber inside products
- Test and troubleshoot products and record description of rework activities and results
- Create test reports
- Program PCB’s
- Organize and monitor inventory levels to maintain adequate stock of necessary parts
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Position Requirements**
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Good manual dexterity
- Time management skills
- Ability to work as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills in data entry, MS Word and Excel
