Position Summary
The Rebar Sales Representative is responsible for selling Salit Steel’s products and
services to builders across Southwestern Ontario. The territory generally
encompasses Windsor, London, Kitchener-Waterloo to Owen Sound. The ideal
taking the initiative as well as working within the Ontario Rebar Divisions various
establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, understanding
their needs, and providing effective solutions through our extensive rebar product
Position Functions
**Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to**:
**1. Customer Relationship Management**: Cultivate and maintain strong
relationships with existing and potential customers in the assigned region.
Understand their project requirements and provide personalized service to
meet their specific needs.
**2. Product & Market Knowledge**: Possess in-depth knowledge of our rebar
project lifecycles. Stay informed about market trends, competitor products,
and industry developments to offer informed recommendations to customers
and the Salit team.
**3. Quoting & Proposals**: Prepare accurate and competitive proposals for
customers. Work closely with the Sales, Estimating, Operations and Project
Delivery teams to ensure timely and precise responses to customer inquiries.
**4. Negotiation & Closing**: Negotiate contractual terms, conditions, prices and
scope of work with customers to achieve profitable agreements. Close sales
and ensure customer satisfaction and relationship development.
**5. Documentation & Reporting**: Maintain accurate records of sales activities,
customer interactions and market trends using Salesforce and appropriate
reports (i.e. Weekly Sales Report).
**Other Responsibilities and Job Functions**:
- Communicate with general contractors and developers regarding project
specific information.
- Review and confirm technical specifications and requirements of each
project.
- Receive and process all enquiries from customers, contracts and technical
departments.
- Distribute project information to various departments to meet their
processing needs.
- Assemble cost data fields from tendered projects into the computer system.
- Audit and finalize job set-up details for all jobs.
- Price and close small and medium Special Projects as well as larger lump sum
and unit price Contract Sales projects.
- Negotiate and secure profitable work.
Working Conditions
- The successful incumbent will be working 40+ hours per week. Traveling
within the region will be required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience in rebar sales or a related field within the construction
industry.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and materials, with a focus
on rebar products and lifecycles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced
environment.
- Goal-oriented with a track record of achieving and exceeding targets.
- Familiarity with Salesforce.
- 3-5 years inside Sales experience.
- 3-5 years of Project Management experience.
- Experience in the rebar industry is considered an asset.
- Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in construction related programs or an acceptable
combination of education and experience.
- Experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, account
development, and time management.
- Understanding of the construction process, specifically with reference to the
formwork, reinforcing and concrete scopes.
- Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
