For its Montreal-based facility, Transcontinental Ross Ellis is looking for an experienced **Shipping and Logistics Supervisor **to join their team.

**SUMMARY OF THE POSITION**

Reporting to the Production Manager, the **Shipping and Logistics Supervisor** must supervise and mobilize the logistics teams, including the unionized shipping employees, to achieve positive results and meet the company's objectives in a positive work environment based on the organization's values. In addition, he/she is responsible for the management and distribution of products and developing a comprehensive inventory tracking system to streamline our operations. Key responsibilities of this position include meeting inventory targets, managing tracking systems and liaising with other departments. This position will provide recommendations to ensure ideal inventory levels within the company.

**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE**:

- Plan, organize, coordinate and control the activities of the logistics area within the required quality, manpower, cost and schedule;
- Ensure the profitability of transportation for all customers in order to suggest improvements or opportunities and communicate these to the stakeholders (CSR, Sales, Billing, Operations, etc.);
- Work closely with the TC Logistics team and actively participate and influence the rate renewal process;
- Establish policies, procedures and tracking systems (computerized or otherwise) for distribution activities and ensure their control and follow-up. Ensure the proper functioning of transportation management systems and run-lists and ensure the evolution of these tools;
- Ensure the quality of service provided by the various carriers. Actively participate with the dispatch team in identifying transportation solutions;
- Ensure clear verbal and written communications with the various Transcontinental stakeholders.
- Responsible for the maintenance of equipment such as the palletizer, carts, loading docks and receiving/shipping equipment;
- Responsible for the management of the robotic area including communications with the various suppliers, management of recurring problems, management of the stacker leaders (evaluation, alignment) as well as planning and follow-up of preventive maintenance;
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and policies and provide a safe and healthy work environment;
- Evaluate, communicate and follow up on employee performance;
- Communicates priorities to his/her team, supervises work in accordance with health and safety rules and maximizes the use of manpower and equipment;
- Organizes and facilitates employee meetings and informs staff of policies, procedures and programs in effect;
- Ensure accurate inventory of products for customers;
- Develop an inventory tracking system to streamline our business operations;
- Communicate with our Warehouse Manager regarding current inventory and potential order issues;
- Perform daily analysis to forecast potential inventory issues;
- Report on inventory activity and variances;
- Evaluate new inventory to ensure it is ready for shipment or delivery;
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices;
- Your presence on different shifts (day/night) may be required in your duties.
