Launched in 2015 as an ethnic and non-for-profit organization, Qarjuit Youth Council is looking for an ambitious and energetic Human Resources Officer to join our team and help us expand our development. The Youth Council is an undergoing growing organization in the region that requires flexibility, creativity and adaptability. The incumbent must balance multiple demands and requests from Executives, Board of Directors, staff and partners.
The Human Resources Officer, in collaboration with the Manager and under the supervision of the Executives and Board of Directors, is responsible to maintaining and enhancing the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Maintains the work structure by creating and/or updating job requirements, job descriptions, and step-by-step guides and tools for all positions;
- Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs;
- Monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions;
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource requirements; conducting investigations and advising on conflict resolution; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings;
- Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures;
- Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records;
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Promote Qarjuit Youth Council’s mission, its development and growth
**WORK EXPERIENCE**:
- Between 3 to 5 years in a human resources position in the social intervention field.
- Experience within an organization which experienced major growth or significant transformation would be an asset.
- Significant work experience in another indigenous context or with community organization would be considered an asset.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- BSc/BA in human resources, or relevant fields.
- Good understanding and significant interest supporting the QYC’s structure and mission;
- Ability to empower team and managers in a cross-cultural context.
- Ability to communicate professionally with Board members and staff members;
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy and work under pressure.
- Proven working experience as a human resources officer in a similar context will be prioritized;
- Able to use all common office equipment including computer, projector and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Promotes and maintains a healthy lifestyle in the community.
- Ability to build report;
**PLACE OF WORK**:
No requirement, but interest to travel within Nunavik for specific needs
**SALARY**:
Hourly rate, between 27,47$/h à 32,96$/h (depending on the experience) Entrance Date As soon as possible
