SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Provide legal advice and opinions in labour law and occupational health and safety;
Represent the CSTU before the various administrative and judicial authorities in matters of labour relations and occupational health and safety;
Conduct investigations in connection with workplace incivility and harassment cases;
Negotiate out-of-court settlements in contentious cases;
Monitor best practices in the areas of your expertise;
Collaborate, as needed, in the negotiation of local provisions or other agreements and attend labour relations committees;
Maintain your knowledge in your specialty and keep abreast of new legislation, regulations and jurisprudence;
Provide training within the CSTU according to your field of expertise.

**Qualifications**

Bachelor's degree in law;
Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar;
Two (2) years of relevant experience in labour relations, ideally in the health and social services network;
Experience in a unionized company, an asset;
Ability to represent and negotiate legally;
Mastery of the main legal research tools and engines (mainly CanLII, CAIJ and SOQUIJ);
Bilingualism, French and English (spoken and written), knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset;
Knowledge of the Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), knowledge of the Espresso GRH-payroll system from

Logibec is an asset;
Strong work organization and priority management skills;
Work experience in remote areas and knowledge of the Inuit culture, an asset;
Integrity, maintenance of confidentiality, sense of responsibility and autonomy, sense of analysis, synthesis and decision-making;
Great ability to work in a team, to promote the client service approach and to establish harmonious interpersonal relations;
Ability to work under pressure and to adapt to the management of labour relations files with northern particularities.

**Conditions and benefits**
SALARY: 32.96/hr to $66.44/hr (CPNSSS established salary scale) | 37.5 hours per week
