**Our Mission**: To promote the personal and social development of youth in Nunavik through outdoor programs.
**Job Summary** : Under the authority of the Board of Directors, the General Manager is responsible for the overall administration and development of the organization. They oversee the planning, management, supervision, control, and evaluation of all services and activities. The General Manager ensures sound management of the organization’s human, financial, and material resources.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Planning, Development, Management, and Governance**
- Define, in collaboration with the Board of Directors, the organization’s general and strategic orientations (mission, vision, values, strategic directions, objectives, etc.).
- Develop and update annual action plans.
- Prepare Board meetings and provide the necessary documentation for follow-up and decision-making.
**Financial and Material Management**
- Prepare and submit an annual budget for Board approval.
- In collaboration with an external accountant, present periodic financial statements and balance sheets to the Board.
- Ensure accountability to funders.
- With the Assistant general manager, oversee the maintenance of infrastructure, premises, furniture, and equipment.
- Negotiate and sign agreements with various funders.
**Program and Service Management**
- Ensure that activities, services, and projects align with the mission and development goals of Nurrait | Jeunes Karibus (NJK).
- Supervise daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure that the organization's functioning meets the expectations of the Board, members, funders, and partners.
- Collect and analyze data on service satisfaction.
**Promotion, Representation, and Partnership Relations**
- Represent the organization and maintain relationships with political, institutional, and community stakeholders, as well as with citizen groups and funders.
- Develop and maintain partnerships necessary for achieving organizational goals.
**Human Resources Management**
- Foster employee engagement with NJK’s values, mission, vision, and strategic orientations.
- Implement and enforce policies, procedures, job descriptions, rules, code of ethics, and working conditions.
- Ensure effective communication within the organization and promote staff participation. Prepare and lead regular team meetings.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Foster a positive and harmonious work environment. Anticipate and prevent potential conflicts.
**Required Profile and Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in administration, management, outdoor education, psychosocial intervention, or any other relevant field. A suitable combination of academic training and relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum of five (5) years of team management experience, preferably in a community and/or remote setting.
- Experience in team mobilization.
- Experience in strategic planning, service implementation, and evaluation.
- Proven experience in financial management.
- Experience working in Nunavik or in an intercultural context is an asset.
- Experience in psychosocial work with youth is an asset.
**Employment Conditions**
- Salary based on the current salary scale.
- Remote work or work from our offices in Kuujjuaq.
- Full-time permanent position.
- 3 weeks of vacation + 2 weeks during Christmas + 10 personal days.
