Overnight Emergency Shelter Worker

Ensures the safe day-to-day operation of a Community
- Hub that serves and supports individuals who are
- unhoused and/or facing food/housing insecurity through
- the meeting of basic needs such as water, food, and
- bathroom access, providing first aid/overdose
- prevention, and acting as a community navigation point
- for accessing community support services.
**Responsibilities & Expectations**:
- Secure facility through direct supervision of entrance to the Community Hub. Policies and procedures are followed consistently and without bias.
- Meet the needs of community members by providing food, water, seasonal clothing, first aid.
- Receive information by phone or in person and refer to appropriate person: Diversion, Emergency Shelter, guest, etc.
- Perform rounds of the interior and exterior of Community Hub property.
- Manage incidents appropriately, such as medical emergency & overdose, guest conflicts and outbursts, mental health & self-harm behaviors.
- Use HIFIS and other tracking systems to share information and record services offered during shift.
- If requested, act as the Shift Team Lead to provide clarity on Frontline Services policy & process, make decisions when exceptions to normal practice are required, and support shift teams during and post incident events.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual
**Salary**: $20.00 per hour
